Black Stars head coach Otto Addo on Thursday 29th August 2024 announced a 23-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
Players are expected to report to camp by Monday, September 2, 2024, to begin preparations for the game on September 5 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi before traveling to play Niger at a neutral grounds in Berkane on September 10.
Coach Otto Addo’s selection includes the core of the squad, with no major surprises.
Key players such as Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed, Jordan Ayew, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku have all been retained.
Inaki Williams and Majeed Ashimeru make their return to the squad after missing previous matches, while Frederick Asare of Asante Kotoko remains the only home-based player.
However, the team’s captain Andre Ayew again missed out on the call-up.
In attendance at the press conference held at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) secretariat was the GFA President, Kurt Okraku, Henry Asante Twum, Frederick Owusu Acheampong and some members on the Excecutive Council (ExCO) and Ghana supporters Union.
