The residents of Barekese in the atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency has cursed their Chief Nana Okomfo Amoapem Brenya and DCE Hon. Robecca Yeboah for arresting their committee chairman Mr Kwame Bediako.

A sense of urgency and frustration filled the air, as they convened to curse their Chief, Nana Okomfo Amoapem Brenya, and the District Chief Executive, Hon. Robecca Yeboah.

The spark that ignited this fiery gathering was the arrest of their committee chairman, Kwame Bediako, affectionately known as Akon. But beneath the surface, simmering resentments and grievances had been building against the Chief.

“He has become a land guard, exploiting our land for his own gain!”

“His boys roam from uncompleted building to uncompleted building, spreading fear and panic!”

At the press conference today they accursed the Chief collecting 500 cedis from every family before allowing them to bury their loved ones without accounting to the people.

A murmur of discontent rippled through the crowd as they recalled the previous committee members’ unexplained disappearance of 700,000 cedis, allegedly shielded by the Chief himself.

The people of Barekese invoked the ancestors, calling upon the spirits to witness their plight. “We curse you, Chief Nana Okofo Amoapem Brenya, and you, Hon. Robecca Yeboah, for your injustices against us. May your actions be returned unto you, until you make amends and restore peace to our community.”
