The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Asuogyaman constituency in the Eastern region, in his quest of amassing votes ahead of the December 7 general elections, has promised to help the youth to travel to the United States of America if they vote for him.

During a campaign event held in his constituency, Mr. Hadzide who seeks to be voted as the Member of Parliament representing Asuogyamang on the ticket of the NPP, touted his connections and experience in helping the Ghanaian youth travel to participate in international sporting events.

The former deputy Sports Minister, was in 2017, caught up in an Australian Visa scandal.

According to the reports several Ghanaian nationals allegedly posed as Journalists to obtain Visas and travel to the Commonwealth Games held in Australia trough the whims and caprices of Pius Hadzide. This led to his initial suspension by his appointing authority, President Akufo-Addo while investigations were conducted.

He was reinstated after being discharged of any wrongdoing.

Addressing his constituents, Pius Hadzide said, “Nananom, do you know that it takes 18 hours to travel from Ghana to America? Even that, I was able to go along with some people. The 2026 World Cup is going to be held in the United States of America which takes just 7 hours to travel to from Ghana.”

“Nananom, if you desire that your children travel to America to go work and remit money back home, or if you are a young person eager to travel to explore opportunities in America, I promise to support you when I become an MP.

“Unlike Ampem my opponent, I will not fold my arms and sit aloof without helping the youth in my constituency. I will facilitate your travels to Germany, America, UK, France, including wherever you want to go in the world, I will help you.

“So vote for me in the upcoming December elections, and I will ensure that I help you achieve your dreams of travelling abroad,” he said.
