Following the recent increase in the prices of fuel in Ghana on Tuesday 16th July 2024, Ghanaians are expected to see an increase in transport fares by 15% in the coming days.
According to Mr David Aboadze, the Public Relations Officer for Concern Drivers Association, the expected price adjustment is due to the current price increment of fuel prices in the country.
Expressing his worries on the current continuous increase of the prices of fuel in the country, Mr David Aboadze said the price of per barrel of fuel in the international market for the past six (6) months is the same but this rampant increments are triggered by the poor management of the cedi against the Dollar.
Finally, Mr Aboadze said leaders of the Driver Unions will meet to negotiate the new price of transport fares but assured Ghanaians of a 15% increment.
