United States President Joe Biden has shelved his re-election bid after calls for his replacement by fellow Democrats over apparent ill-health and recent debate performance with Republican candidate and former President, Donald Trump.
President Biden personally announced his decision on Sunday evening, thereby ending his reelection campaign.
“It is in the best interest of my party and the country,” Biden stated.
