Mr. Stephen Ayombisa, an educationist has noted that the only positive impact of the Free Senior High School in the last 7 years is the increase in enrollment but of no quality.
Speaking in an interview on GIFTs FM Morning Show dubbed Anopa Bosuo chaired by Kwaku Mensah Abrampa, Mr Stephen Ayombisa stated that Ghana’s education system especially the basic Education is battling a lot of challenges in terms of infrastructure which is impeding the quality education stressing that the free Senior High School lacks quality because there was no proper consultations before its introduction.
Mr. Stephen Ayombisa stressed that there should be a total review of the free Senior High Education with stakeholders which include parents, teachers, student body, government, NGOs and other civil society organisations to negotiate on the Free Senior High school to know their weaknesses and work on it because there’s no successful implementation of policy without stakeholders.
He added that it is very unfortunate that the government government doesn’t pay attention to critics when they are messing up the system emphasizing that a country is built with consensus hence the suggestion of the review of the free senior high school.
