Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah has accused former President Nana Akufo-Addo of leading the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to defeat in the 2024 general election, leaving the party in a divided and weakened state.
“Prof. Mike Oquaye and others already know the cause of the NPP’s defeat. In the very room where the fact-finding committee was formed sat the person responsible for the loss. They should have bundled him up when they were leaving that room,” he stated on his ‘For the Records’ show.
He further questioned Akufo-Addo’s legacy within the party: “Your Excellency, now that you have left office, are you happy with the state of the NPP—the party you led into an election where it secured only 42% of the votes?”
Afrifa-Mensah also warned that the party’s failure to acknowledge past divisions, particularly from 1979, would lead to its downfall.
“If they fail to remember that history, they will continue to weaken and ultimately destroy the NPP.”
