BAB: Ankra-Muano Assembly Member Appeals To Gov’t To Repair Death Trap Footbridge

The assembly member of Ankra-Muano, a community within the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the western north, Hon. Daniel Duku has appealed to the government to repair a footbridge which links major farm lands.

According to him, the ruined footbridge has completely disrupted their farming activities, but he stressed the importance of repairing it promptly.

The assembly member asserted that cocoa beans and all their foodstuffs have been left offshore and rotten due to the wrecked nature of the footbridge.”this is very worrying, the only footbridge linking all our farm lands has broken. However, this has seriously affected our farming activities. We are appealing to the government and perhaps NGOs to come to our aid”.

As part of the measures, he said several calls to the Municipal authorities to come to their aid have been proven unfruitful, adding it has become a burden to them.

“We have made several appeals to the authorities, but to no avail. We are calling for support, since we cannot go to our farms, and all our businesses have become stalled,” he concluded.
