C/R: Lack of basic amenities: Ajumako-Techiman Community Appeal for support

A Community appeal for public benefit, improvement or contribution that can enhance the quality of life in the community.

Nananom of Ajumako- Techiman in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region is Appealing for community amenities to make life easier and more pleasant.

The residents are into both commerical and peasant farming. The community is lacking numerous basic community amenities which is negatively affecting the standard of living of the residents.

For instance, a dilapidated three-unit classroom block of Techiman Catholic JHS which was unused due to the deplorable nature of the building was converted to KG block now under serious threat has never seen any rehabilitation. Now the kids have been moved to another deplorable state of school building with a conducive number of kids

More troubling is the residents, inability to have a healthy life due to a refuse dumping site for the whole district of which some flies bitting them everyday that allergies to their health.

During a recent visit, it was observed that a portion of Land has been cleared up to put up a Community Health Planning Service (CHPS) compound, but in need of help to build, to access health care.

The Chief of Techiman community, Nana Okra and Queen mother Nana Esi Prah  lamented that, the community is in dye need of essential social amenities such as school infrastructure, health care facility, dumping refuse site etc.

They revealed that, through self initiative, the community is building ICT laboratory for the school but lack of KG block they’re now converting it into classroom for the kids to reduce the condusive environment.

Nananom therefore appealed to the government, NGOs, corporate bodies, Philanthropists, and natives of Ajumako-Techiman to come to their aid on the school.

Some residents, also expressed their worries about the challenges confronting the school and therefore, appealed to the general public, government, philanthropists to come to their aid to provide basic amenities to improve their living conditions.

According to them, due to financial constraints, they’re finding it difficult to complete the ICT laboratory project which is currently at roofing level.

All these were revealed during this year annual festival celebration at Ajumako-Techiman.
