The main road from Aboi Nkwanta to Samreboi and it’s environs has been destroyed as a result of illegal mining in the Amenfi West Municipal.
There is a mining activity in the Aboi Nkwanta town which is behind peoples how houses and very close to the road. The site do not have enough space for their used water to flow except the road.
In the past weeks, those staying very close to the mining site experienced flooding after it rained heavily when the water flowing could not get any safe direction. This caused part of the road to be destroyed making it very thin. Tracks and other big cars could not use that route except for the small cars.
People living at Aboi Nkwanta woke to witness the road in a worse state from last night’s rain. Drivers from Asankrangwa have to use either the Sureso or Wassa Dunkwa routes to get to Samreboi and it’s environs.
Some residents believes ignorance on the part of abled leaders is the cause this menace because there have been several complains to stop the mining activity. Also, the site do not have do not have any route for diversion of water.
Other drivers and passengers are pleading to the Municipal Chief Executive and others to take action immediately for the health , peace of residents matters most. This is causing a lot of harm to traders using the route.
