Leo Messi

In my opinion, FIFA should not have allowed Messi to play football for so long. The reason being that Messi has set the bar so high that it will be incredibly difficult for future generations to surpass his records.

For example:

– Before being considered the greatest player of all time, one would need to win 9 Ballon d’Or awards and 9 FIFA Player of the Year awards.
– To be regarded as the best playmaker in football history, one would need to win 6 Playmaker awards.
– To be seen as the best dribbler in football history, one would need to surpass Messi’s dribbling stats.
– For a player in Europe to be considered the best goalscorer, they would need to score 704 goals and win 6 European Golden Shoes.
– To become the footballer with the most trophies, one would need to win 45 or more trophies.
– To break the record for the most goals in a calendar year, one would need to score 92 goals in a single year.
– And finally, to “complete” football, one would need to win the FIFA World Cup.

All these achievements make me wonder if any player will ever be able to break these records. Messi is beyond great; words fail to describe him. He is inevitable; Messi is infinity.

The World Cup used to be the most coveted and challenging competition in football. However, because of Messi, some players now claim it is no longer credible. Messi has raised the bar so high that rival fans now say things like:
– “It’s just a 7-game tournament.”
– “There’s nothing special about it.”

If it were that easy, why haven’t their favorite players scored or assisted in a World Cup knockout game despite playing 8 games? This is delusion mixed with hypocrisy from their fanbase.

Messi is the Greatest of All Time.
2014 Messi was legendary.

The Greatest of All Time.
