Management of Nsuopun Fidelity FC on Wednesday, has made a presentation of items and financial relief for inmates in Wassa Hiawa prisoners in Wassa Amenfi Central in the Western Region.
The football club in Wassa Amenfi East donated 3 boxes of bar soap and assorted drinks for onward distribution among the inmates.
The executives of the club, aside donating the items also payed a hooping amount of GH¢15,600 cash to facilitate the release of 4 inmates who were serving their jailed terms due to inability to settle their penalties.
Mr. Ganagodo, a sports journalist led the team to present the items on behalf of the club.
He said, the presentation was part of preparations ahead of the upcoming Western Regional Football Association Middle League Final which will be held in Tarkwa.
The team will play their WRFA final match over the weekend aiming to win the altimate trophy.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Hiawa prison camp, Chief officer Romeo Mensah thanked the representatives of the club for defying all odds to come to their aid.
A beneficiary of the cash donation who’s now an ex convict, Rashid Memphis speaking on behalf of other colleagues, he commended the team for the guesture.
He also advised the youth to desert from engaging in criminal act and other social vices which could land them into prison.
