The Ministry of Local Governance, in collaboration with Green Ghana, UNCDF, and the European Union, has commissioned a new bridge, modern mechanized borehole, and graduation ceremony at Asuaem No 2 in the Amamfi East district.
The community celebrated the handover of the newly constructed bridge and borehole, as well as the graduation of 124 community members who participated in the cash-for-work beneficiary program.
The program aimed to provide employment opportunities and improve the community.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Wasa Amamfi East district, Hon. Fredrick Korankye, expressed gratitude to the community for their hard work and dedication.
He acknowledged the support of the ministry, regional coordinating council, Green Ghana, UNCDF, and the European Union.
The Mineral Development Fund provided GH¢50,000 to support the project, which is expected to improve the livelihoods of community members.
The cash-for-work beneficiary program aimed to provide employment opportunities and improve the community.
The Chief Director of LGD and Green Ghana project, Mr. Shadrak Mensah, said the intervention was carried out with funding of GH¢382,479 under the Green Project for 2023.
The assembly funded GH¢341,879, which helped in the construction of the project.
The chief of Nsuaem No 2, Nana Kofi Jura Konti Hene, expressed gratitude for the project, stating that the bad nature of the bridge made transportation and farming challenging.
The assembly member for Nsuaem No 2 electoral area, Nsiah Emmanuel, thanked the ministry and partners but called for more developmental projects to improve livelihoods.
